November has been a super busy month! And, all of the sudden it’s not November anymore! So here’s what happened the week of Thanksgiving, our busiest week in November…
Brigham’s 8th Birthday
Briggs decided to celebrate his birthday a little late this year so that his grandparents (Cammie’s parents) could be there. So, the whole family got together to celebrate his special day. I helped Cammie make the cake Briggs requested, some Pokemon character, and we opened presents and had cake and ice cream.
Steve, Briggs and Drex right before we sang Happy Birthday…
Steve beat Briggs to the punch and blew out a candle or two first!
Luckily, Briggs is a good sport and was more shocked than upset! I can’t believe I actually got a picture of Steve stealing the thunder!
Thanksgiving
I love Thanksgiving! Everything about it is awesome! And it’s always awesome. This year, though, was probably one of my favorite Thanksgivings in a long time! This year, at our house, we had 14 adults and 14 kids total to eat our Turkey feast! Joining us were, the Blackburns, the Klaproths (Cammie’s parents), the Broadbents (Ben and Cammie), the Broadbents (Jed and Becky), the Broadbents (Steven and Kathy), and the Jensens. We had 2 turkeys, something like 20 pounds of mashed potatoes, tons of stuffing, marshmallow yams, green bean casserole, tons of rolls, deviled eggs, an enormous salad, cranberry sauce, gravy, grilled chicken, 3 sour cream apple pies, 2 cherry pies, a huge pecan pie, a chocolate chip pie, chocolate cream pie, pumpkin pie, pumpkin cheesecake and gooey pumpkin butter cake. We ate and ate! And it was SO GOOD!
We cleared out our family room furniture and moved our kitchen table and added 2 more long tables to make sure we had enough room for the adults.
We borrowed 2 big kid tables to seat all the kiddos…
It was the perfect setup!
The Jensens and the Blackburns (Molly, Kasey, Charlie, and Liz)
Angie and Steve Klaproth (we had a house full of Steves!)
All the “big kids”…so fun! and so full!
The dedicated hosts…Jess and me!
The pie, in all it’s glory! YUM!
I started a tradition this year of having everyone right in a Thankful Book. Then, each year we can remember who was with us last Thanksgiving and remember what we were all thankful for! Here’s the little kiddos drawing what they’re thankful for.
Cammie and Ben
Becky and Jed
It’s also tradition on Thanksgiving day for all us girls to go through every Black Friday add and plan our Black Friday adventure! This year tops them all for sure! We all spent the entire night, 11:30pm-5:30am, in Wal-Mart! Of course we made it out with some sweet deals! I got a new laptop for $200! Totally worth standing in line in the toothpaste aisle for 5 hours! Next year we’re all thinking of buying all the big items and selling for profit the next day! ha ha
Brigham’s Baptism and Cade’s Baby Blessing
To finish off our Thanksgiving week, Briggs was baptized and baby Cade was blessed. It was wonderful to be a part of such a special day and remember my own baptism. I’m so glad that my boys have such wonderful cousins setting such good examples.
Ben and Cade…so cute!
The whole fam…Congrats Briggs! We love you! And we’re so glad Cade is in our family too!
