This marks the first mother's day that I am actually a mom! Last year I was pregnant, so it only half way counted! For me, being a mom has made me appreciate my own mom more than ever! I have the best mom in the world! Nobody loads a dishwasher like my mom, I can't even come close to make cinnamon rolls like her, she is beautiful, and loving, she knows so much about so many things, especially the gospel, she has a rock of a testimony, she is tender hearted and kind, and she loves her kids unconditionally. I pretty much want to be just like her! She's always there when I call to chat, or to complain, and especially when I'm sick! Nobody but my mom understood what I felt like for the first 3 months of my pregnancy! And she always has the best advice, and it's always right! She is such a good mom! Happy Mother's Day mom! I love you!
For my first Mother's Day, we had a lovely day. Steve had a rough night Saturday night, so Jesse was sweet enough to get up super early with him so I could sleep! That would have been enough, but when I woke up, I came out to a yummy breakfast, cooked by my sweetie of a hubby! I have to say, he can make some mean eggs! It was quite tasty! (Thanks sweetie!!!) Sunday evening we had dinner with Jesse's parents at Ben and Cammie's house. Ben was so sweet and cooked a fabulous meal for everyone. I brought a cake! And of course the cousins were just as sweet and cute as ever! We LOVE living near family! Especially Jer, Briggs and Ali! Jer and Briggs did such a good job singing with the primary in Sacrament Meeting, it was precious! Happy Mother's Day!
The cake...it ended up looking like a chocolate brick, but it sure tasted yummy! (if I do say so myself!)
