It is official...I LOVE being an aunt, and I LOVE being a mom! This weekend was our weekend to watch Ben and Cammie's kids, while they had their "Weekend Away", at home. Then this coming weekend, Ben and Cammie are watching Steve, while we have our "Weekend Away." Cammie and I arranged all of this for our hubbies for Christmas. Well, to milk the gift for all it's worth, our Christmas present to Jer, Briggs, and Ali was a fun weekend with Uncle Jesse and Aunt Emily! I made a bunch of tickets for stuff they could do or have done while they were here and then planned on just having fun with 3 extra kids! But, before I picked the kids up for the weekend (and traded cars so we could haul them around!) I had been watching my friends little girl, Madeleine, and would be keeping her over night Thursday and Friday night. So, that meant, one night with 5 kids!
So Friday evening I load Steve and Madeleine in my car and head over to Cammie's to pick up the her kids. I get there, and they are all packed and super pumped and ready to go. So we load up all the car seats and sleeping bags in their van, and we're off!
So we got home to our house, ate some dinner and the boys started wanting to use their tickets. First, they played Wii with uncle Jesse. Then they got to stay up late and watch a movie with us and eat popcorn, and THEN, stay up even later and watch uncle Jesse play video games. I believe the boys fell asleep on the couch watching Jesse play...it was classic! Meanwhile though, I had the little ones lining up with poopy diapers, jammies, brushed teeth...and finally bed time. I put Madeleine in the office, the boys were going to be on the couch, so I decided to put Ali, and her princess sleeping bag, in Steve's room...just hoping they were both tired enough to go to sleep with out too many problems. Miraculously, they went right to sleep! So I let Ali sleep in there the next night too, with NO problems! I'm thinking Steve was meant to share a room!
So, we all wake up to Steve and Ali playing the next morning (bright and early), have pancakes, send Madeleine home with her mommy, and start using tickets again. The boys played more video games, we did a project (fun hats), had ice cream loaded with toppings, read stories, played games, and had pizza and root beer floats for dinner! Then baths/showers, and early bed time so we could get up and go to church in the morning. Yup, that's right, I had to get 3 extra kids ready for church, AND we were early! I was pretty impressed with us!
We had so much fun with the kids here. They are so sweet, and so polite, and such big helpers. They are smart and fun, and totally know what is going on...I love it! So, I LOVE being and Aunt, and LOVE being a mom, and Jesse still only wants to have 3 kids! The End! Here's some pictures from our fun-filled weekend!
