I love my boys. I am blessed to have 3 boys in my life…ok 2 boys and a man! Each one of them makes me smile every day. For those who may be interested, here’s a little run down on the boys in our house…
Steve (almost 4)
Recently, Steve decided that when we are at home it means he should only be wearing underwear! I have no idea how this started…but I have a bare little boy running around my house everyday! He’s so cute!
Steve loves to talk to me. He loves to tell me all about everything. I love his little voice. He’s got quite the vocabulary and constantly surprises me with the things that he says!
Steve definitely has a mind of his own. He wants to make his own decisions on his own terms. The other day we had a conversation like this:
Me: Steve if you jump on the couch again you’ll go in time out.
Steve: I like time out!
Me: Ok then, jump on the couch and you can go in time out!
Steve: I was just kidding, I don’t really like time out.
Steve is a MAJOR negotiator! Seriously…the kid could win awards!
Steve likes to have a plan. (Totally the Brown gene coming out!) EVERY night at bed time he asks me what we’re doing the next day and when I tell him something we’re doing, he always wants to know what we’re doing after that, and then after that! You better believe he remembers what I tell him too!
Steve LOVES to color…and he is good!
Since the school year started, and all the cousins he usually played with started kindergarten, Steve has been filling the role of “oldest”. All the little ones follow him around. I think he’s starting to like the position of power!
Steve can play the Wii all by himself. Seriously. He can turn it on and set up pretty much any game. And he loves to tell me all about all the games! When I tell him it’s time to turn it off, I regularly hear “Let me finish one more level mom!”
Steve is really into superheroes. He loves them all.
We love Steve, our little superhero!
Dan (almost 2)
Dan’s vocabulary consists of these words: momma, dadda, bubba (brother), amen, owie, and uh-oh. While this makes communication frustrating, he has learned to sign please, more and milk, which helps a lot.
Dan LOVES his big brother. He follows him all over the house. Anything Steve does, Dan wants to do. Anything Steve has, Dan wants too. In fact, Steve was the one who showed Dan how to sign please, more and milk!
Dan loves superheroes, just like Steve. He recognizes, and will point out, Spiderman (or anything related to Spiderman), Batman, and Captain America. He’s going to be Spiderman for Halloween and LOVES to wear his costume. As soon as he puts it on he gets a serious look on his face and is ready of some serious superhero business! It’s seriously so cute!
Dan loves to snuggle. He gives the best hugs and kisses. He gets SO excited when Jesse comes home at night and practically jumps down the stairs to give him a hug!
Dan is very sensitive. If Jesse or I raise our voice to him it just about crushes him, which then just about crushes us! When Dan gets hurt (poor kid, it happens a lot), he has to show me exactly where he got hurt and I have to kiss it better. And then he’ll tell us about it later to by pointing to it and saying owie.
Dan LOVES music! I love looking back at him in the car and seeing him dance in his car seat. He has some serious moves at home too…they are so cute, and mostly copied from his brother! He loves to try and sing along to songs too, which ends up being more like humming, since he can only say 6 words! He’s the best at the Brittney Spears song, “Till the World Ends” (there’s a lot of oh, oh, oh’s).
Dan loves to pretend to play the Wii with Steve. He gets the controller with no dead batteries and his happy as can be! The Wii keeps them both very entertained!
We love our little Dan, he makes us so happy!
Jesse (the Daddy!)
A great husband and daddy. He’s a hard worker which I’m so grateful for. He loves his boys so much. That makes me happy.
He’s currently learning songs to play on the piano. I love hearing the piano in our home.
Jesse is studying hard for the CPA. One day we’ll be able to look back at this and remember how not fun it is to study this much! But he’s doing great.
Takes me on a date just about every week. I love date night with my man.
He’s very understanding and so helpful. He offers his help with boring chores all the time. He’s great at cleaning bathrooms!
I love Jesse. He is my best friend.
