Doesn't Get Much Crazier Than This...

17 children, 15 adults, 4 rafts, 6 hours, 1 river. That's right, I think all that adds up to crazy! Missouri has lots of great places to go on a "float trip" and float down a river. This year, the Broadbent's, in all their glory, floated down the Huzzah river.

The day began bright and early at 7:30 am. We had to drive an hour and a half to get to the raft rental place and loading point on the river. We were lucky enough to miss the rain that was predicted for the day and ended up with gorgeous weather! I think we went through 4 cans of sunscreen!

Here's two of the rafts as we set off down the river!

I was, as always, obsessed with taking lots of pictures, so heres one of the rafts cheesing it up for me!

Ben and Cammie brought their snorkling stuff, which was a huge hit with Jesse! I think he spent more time in the water then in the raft. He said it was a blast!

Heres some of the men on the smaller raft that was reserved for fishing. They had a couple catches!

Yes, that's right, crazy mamma Emily brought an 8 month old on a 6 hour float trip! Let's just say I won't do that again! We survived, and managed a couple smiles for the camera!

Scuba Jesse with his fish catching net, and the fish he caught with it. I think the nets were supposed to be butterfly catching nets, but they sure were a hit with the kids, and Jesse of course!

Here's everyone crowding around to see the turtle Jesse caught (with the butterfly net!).

The turtle...we should have given it a name!

We took a lunch break on the banks of the river, and Steve lounged for a bit.

There were lots of spots to get out and swim. Here's Rachel, Rebecca, and Cammie coolin off!

Like I said, the nets were a big hit with the kids! Here they are on the hunt!

Row, row, row your boat gently down the stream...

Merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream!

The umbrellas cam in quite handy as you can see!

Cammie, Em and Steve.

Thank goodness the men were there to drag us over the low spots!

Steve loved splashing in the water with scuba daddy!

He also loved the gatorade daddy kept giving him!

And, finally, the madness was over and we were taken back to our cars on a school bus! It was such a fun day! A little crazy at times, but lots of fun! Can't wait til next year...I wonder what river we'll do then?!
