Memorial Day Weekend Camping Extravaganza!

Memorial Day weekend was our first ever family camping trip!  It was all planned for Friday night with a bunch of family/friends…then kids started get sick!  Typical!  Dan was sick for the entire week before, but we were lucky enough to all be ok to go.  Ben and Cammie couldn’t go Friday, Charlie had to work, so the Blackburns couldn’t come…so it came down to us, Jed and Becky, our friends Nate and Jasmine, and Kasey with his kids and without Molly (impressive!!)!  We went to Mark Twain lake and had a great campsite.  And the weather was PERFECT!  It was perfectly chilly and so nice!  Our kids did awesome, and loved it!  Except for the Dan falling into the fire and miraculously NOT getting burned!  And me nearly having a heart attach when I saw Dan sitting in the fire!  The next day the plan was to go out on the Coleman’s boat, and we did, but it was FREEZING!  and then, just as we were getting everything out of the water, it dumped a ton of rain on us!  Luckily we had already packed up our campsite!  So we all drove home in the rain.  When we were about 15 minutes from home, Cammie called us and said they were all better and just decided they were going to go camping!  Since we were already packed up we decided, why not?!  We stopped home for a minute to change out a couple of things and then we were off with the whole family for one more night, in a new location!  Jed and Becky even came last minute too, again!  Super impressive for prego Becky!  And the Blackburns came too!  This time it was a bit warmer and the cicadas arrived!  It was cicada INSANITY!  We spend the night by the river and spent the next day playing in the water.  It was quite the adventure, and so much fun!  We were shocked at how well our kids did and how much Steve LOVED it!  As soon as we got home he wanted to go camping again!  Now on to a crazy overload of pictures…
