I have the wonderful opportunity of serving in the Young Women's program in our ward, which I love, and a couple of weeks ago we put on an awesome Young Women in Excellence. The theme was Building a Better Me, which was a perfect theme for everyone, not just the young women. The decorations were amazing, we went with a construction zone theme. It is truly amazing how much of a difference the decorations make and how much they added to the entire night. I know everyone-young women, parents and leaders-came away wanting to be a better person. Mission accomplished!
So, the decorations...we basically wallpapered the gym with old blueprints and painted the values around the room. There were 2x4's all over the place, caution tape, tools, toy trucks of every kind, bricks, and cones. We had "build your own brownie sundae's" for refreshments, and each girl had a "construction site" displaying what they've done over the year. It was awesome! The highlight, however, was the song and dance number done by us crazy leaders. Yes, you read that right, song AND dance! Christine (leader in charge of this night) found the perfect song to go along with the theme called "Brick by Brick." And of course we sang it and Cammie made up a dance for us to do to it. And the best part, one of the dads of one of the YW video taped it and it is now on youTube! And yes, I have posted the video at the end of this post! All in all it was a very successful night, and lots of fun. Now, on to the pictures, and video!
Now the video...don't judge! We had a blast!
