April Birthdays
After celebrating Ali’s birthday and chaperoning the YW trip, we had a big gathering on Sunday to celebrate the other April birthdays: Marcus, Kathy, and me. April is full of birthdays! We BBQ’d, had 3 different birthday cakes, and had lots of fun being with family. We seriously have a great family. Happy Birthday April birthdays!
Jesse and I had a wonderful date night on my actual birthday. He took me to dinner and shopping. I love my hubby!
The birthday kids! Kathy is holding baby John (his birthday is in December!)
Mommy and her boys…love these kids! This cheesecake was AMAZING, and you’ll never guess who made it for me?! BEN! Thanks Ben…you rocked the cheesecake!
A Business/FUN Trip to AZ
The last weekend of April was a very exciting weekend for Pocket Full of Posies. Cammie and I took a little business trip to Phoenix to attend a blogging conference. It just so happens that Cammie’s family lives in AZ, so her mom and sisters and sister-in-law all got together for a little girl’s weekend, and let me join in on the fun. It was so fun to finally meet all of Cammie’s fam…they were awesome (of course) and I had a blast hanging with just the gals! I will now be extra jealous when Cammie goes home to visit!
So, when the girls get together for a girl’s weekend, everyone brings a project and enough of it for everyone else. So, in one weekend we all came away making 6 different projects. We really had to kick butt to get them all done in time, but it was way fun! Some people are just fun to do projects with, and these gals were! Cammie and I spent all day Saturday at the conference getting overloaded with tons of useful information and meeting a ton of really awesome people…
Cammie’s mom and 2 sisters (Tiffany and Amber) picked us up from the airport, and our first stop was Cafe Rio. I was so pumped about finally getting to eat at this amazing place I hear so much about, and I was not disappointed! Of course I ate way too much! Here’s Tiffany, Cammie, me and Angie (Amber must have been taking the picture!)
As soon as we got to Cammie’s parent’s house, we started in on some projects. Cammie’s project was interchangeable flip flops (there’s a tutorial on Make It and Love It). These were fun.
Like I said, we had a blast and learned a ton a the conference. Here we are with our new friend Steph from Somewhat Simple (awesome blog!).
And here we are with Cindy from Skip To My Lou.
After our blogging conference, Cammie and I met the girls at Celebrity Theater to see 2 guys from Whose Line is it Anyway perform. I seriously haven’t laughed that hard ever! It was hilarious! My cheeks hurt like 10 minutes into the thing! Here I am with Cammie and her sis Amber.
Me, Cammie, Amber, Angie, and Joanna (Cammie’s sis-in-law)
I can never remember these guys names, but they are hysterical!
This was Tiffany’s project. Soap in a cute bottle with a cute saying on it. Cammie and I had to wait to fill ours til we got home! But, my bottle says: “Get kisses from the misses when you do the dishes!”
This was my project, appliqué onesies. We all made them as gifts.
This was Angie’s project, these really neat exploding boxes. There’s a tutorial here.
Amber’s project: magnetic boards made from old cabinet doors. They all turned out way cute.
Joanna’s project was a really cute paper bag journal, but I don’t have a picture of it for some reason!
Our little business/fun trip was fabulous! And, Jesse survived watching the kids! We were gone from Friday to Monday evening, so Jesse and Ben swapped days the went to work! Jesse watched all the kids Friday, while Ben was at work, and then Ben watched all the kids Monday while Jesse was at work! We have amazing husbands! And it was an extra fun weekend for everyone because uncle Charlie came in town for a job interview and stayed on our couch!
So, I think to say that April was a busy month might be an understatement, but it sure was fun! Now I just have to catch up on May! Hopefully I can before June is over!!
