I realized today that Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and I still haven’t posted about Halloween! Here’s what we did…
The ward Fall Festival was the Saturday before Halloween. It was a gorgeous day and so fun to do it a the park. There were games, sloppy joes and candy. Who could ask for more?!
How about two cute superheroes?!! We picked out costumes WAY before Halloween…the boys just couldn’t stand waiting! And we definitely got our money’s worth! They put these bad boys on at least once a day! The very first time Dan put his on he immediately turned into a little spiderman…it was so cute!
Seriously…cutest Spiderman ever!
And cutest Wolverine!
The Incredibles made an appearance too (minus Mr. Incredible!)
And it wouldn’t be Halloween without some princesses! And of course Libby and Ali had to match!
Quin didn’t even look like Quin!
Cousins!
These were my favorite costumes of the day! How cute is baby Yoda?!! Darth Vador was actually one of my YW and now she’s all grown up and married with a kid! Aghh!!
We did some 3 legged races that were a big hit! This was the Daddy daughter race where Charlie and Libby won (and it had nothing to do with Charlie dragging poor Libby across the finish line…there may have been tears!)
This is my favorite picture of the day! Jesse and I totally kicked everyone’s behind in the couples race! I may have totally biffed it at the finish line…but we still won!
This was the friend race, Briggs, Drex, Chandler and Jer.
They had a hard time…but tons of fun!!
And cute Dan was all about eating candy!
Halloween night we all met at our house to trick-or-treat our neighborhood. It was a great night, and the kids all came back with tons of candy!
We made a quick little trip to see Grandma Great…she loves it when the boys visit!
Happy boys ready for some trick-or-treating! Dan LOVED trick-or-treating this year! He wanted to hold all his candy in his hands and not put it in his bag!
The super heroes of the night!
The whole crew…we love Halloween with the cousins!
Grandma and grandpa even came over for the fun! And passed out candy from our house!
After trick-or-treating the kids rushed inside to count their loot and compare! Us grown ups ate pumpkin cake!
Steve with his stash…one happy kid!
This year we started a new Halloween tradition…the Magic Halloween Bag. After Halloween is over, I let the kids pick out 5 pieces of candy from their loot to save and eat whenever, the rest of it they dumped into the Magic Halloween Bag where all the candy disappeared and turned into a surprise! Dan’s surprise was a batman t-shirt…which he LOVES! Steve got a transformers costume (they were half off at Target! and he loves to dress up!) Needless to say, 5 pieces of candy didn’t last very long and Steve started wishing his candy didn’t disappear in the magic bag! Oh well, this tradition is here to stay! Happy Halloween!
